Body cleansing wipes are your BO hero in the shower

Recently, there has been an upsurge among celebrities: hordes of celebrities become clean because they are not clean. Their hygiene habits are constantly changing-some of them don’t bathe at all, others bathe occasionally, and some only clean certain parts of the body. If you are in this club that does not take a regular bath (or if you want to join it), you might consider stocking body cleansing wipes.
It’s hard to say who caused the first anti-shower tsunami, but to an inadvertent observer (aka me), it seems to be Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher. Other stars seem to be flocking too—from Jack Gyllenhaal to Dyx Shepard and Christine Bell, everyone has come forward as part of the movement. Although some people may initially think that skipping the bubble is a one-way ticket to Smelly City, this is not the case.
Hustle asked Dr. Loretta Siraldo, MD, a board-certified dermatologist in Miami, how long she thinks people can stay healthy without taking a bath. “This is a big problem,” she said. Although she admits that the wave of people throwing soap into the wind is increasing, she pointed out that she is a cleaning expert. “As a dermatologist, I believe that soaking the skin in water is very beneficial. I recommend taking a bath at least every two days,” Ciraldo said. But cleaning wipes are the perfect product to keep you quiet between showers-or, I think, even a substitute for bathing.

Ciraldo says that if you are struggling or are truly committed to a showerless lifestyle, body cleansing wipes are a good alternative. These small towels use a two-pronged approach: “They work because they are infused with cleaning ingredients that can effectively remove debris,” she explained. “They are also skin-friendly enough, and if residues of the ingredients remain on the skin, they will not [cause irritation].” Think of them as a shower in the form of a small towel.
One concern is their impact on the environment. According to Ciraldo, there are many wet wipes made of biodegradable materials on the market today, so if you are looking for sustainable options, choose these. Otherwise, she recommends avoiding any products containing artificial dyes and fragrances, as they can sometimes irritate the skin. Ciraldo said that instead, look for nourishing and soothing ingredients such as ceramide, vitamin E, aloe vera, oats and coconut oil.
There is a strategy to follow in your temporary shower procedure. “First wipe the areas that are not prone to sweating, odors, and bacterial overgrowth,” Ciraldo said. Although this may vary from person to person, she pointed out that it usually means the chest and abdomen, followed by the arms and legs. Then, she said to hit your private parts and underarms. Her last advice? “Never reuse the rag.” It just spreads everything you just wiped off your body back to your skin.
